On the correct entropic form for systems with power-law behaviour: the case of dissipative maps

چکیده
Maximum entropy principle does not seem to distinguish between the use of Tsallis and Renyi entropies as either of them may be used to derive similar power-law distributions. In this paper, we address the question whether the Renyi entropy is equally suitable to describe those systems with powerlaw behaviour, where the use of the Tsallis entropy is relevant. We discuss a specific class of dynamical systems, namely, one dimensional dissipative maps at chaos threshold and make our study from two aspects: i) powerlaw sensitivity to the initial conditions and the rate of entropy increase, ii) generalized bit cumulants. We present evidence that the Tsallis entropy is the more appropriate entropic form for such studies as opposed to Renyi form. PACS Number(s): 05.45.-a, 05.20.-y, 05.70.Ce

A Dissipative Integral Sliding Mode Control Redesign Method
This paper develops a new method of integral sliding mode control redesign for a class of perturbed nonlinear dissipative switched systems by modifying the dissipativity-based control law that was designed for the unperturbed systems. The nominal model is considered affine with matched and unmatched perturbations. The redesigned control law includes an integral sliding-based control signal such...
متن کاملNonextensivity and multifractality in low-dimensional dissipative systems
Power-law sensitivity to initial conditions at the edge of chaos provides a natural relation between the scaling properties of the dynamics attractor and its degree of nonextensivity as prescribed in the generalized statistics recently introduced by one of us (C.T.) and characterized by the entropic index q. We show that general scaling arguments imply that 1/(1−q) = 1/αmin−1/αmax, where αmin a...
متن کاملShortcut Node Classification for Membrane Residue Curve Maps
comNode classification within Membrane Residue Curves (M-RCMs) currently hinges on Lyapunov’s Theorem and therefore the computation of mathematically complex eigenvalues. This paper presents an alternative criterion for the classification of nodes within M-RCMs based on the total membrane flux at node compositions. This paper demonstrates that for a system exhibiting simple permeation behaviour...
متن کاملTHE SPINLESS SALPETER EQUATION AND MESON DYNAMICS
Applying the variational method, the spinless reduced Bethe-Salpeter (RBS) equation is solved for the mesonic systems, and the mass spectra are obtained. The method is applied to the Hamiltonian with the Gaussian and hydrogen-type trial wave functions, and different potential models are examined. The results for the different potentials are in challenge in light mesons, while they are consisten...

Electro-magneto-thermo-elastic response of a thick double-layered cylinder made from a homogeneous interlayer and a functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) outer layer is investigated. Material properties of the FGPM layer vary along radius based on the power law distribution. The vessel is subjected to an internal pressure, an induced electric potential, a uniform magnetic field and ...
